The search for two paddleboarders who disappeared on Saturday afternoon in Murrin Provincial Park, near Squamish, British Columbia, has resumed. According to Cpl. Katrina Boehmer of the Sea to Sky RCMP detachment, police received a report around 3 p. m. PT that two individuals had failed to resurface after paddleboarding on Browning Lake.

Squamish RCMP, including RCMP Air Services, are assisting Squamish Search and Rescue, Squamish Fire Rescue, and park rangers in the ongoing search efforts. The focus remains on Browning Lake within Murrin Provincial Park, a popular recreational area about two kilometers north of Britannia Beach and nine kilometers south of Squamish.

Authorities have closed Murrin Provincial Park to the public while the search is underway. Cpl. Boehmer is encouraging anyone with information about the incident to contact the police. Regular updates regarding the park's status will be available through the B. C. Parks website, police say. The incident is a somber reminder of the potential dangers of water activities, even in seemingly tranquil environments.

The RCMP and other search teams are dedicated to locating the missing paddleboarders, and are utilizing all available resources in their search. The community is asked to avoid the area to allow search and rescue teams to operate efficiently.
