Manitoba Teenager Dies After Stabbing in Berens River

A 15-year-old boy is dead following a stabbing in Berens River First Nation, Manitoba. RCMP responded to a call just after 9 a. m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, regarding a stabbing at a home in the community. Berens River First Nation is located approximately 265 kilometers north of Winnipeg, on the east shore of Lake Winnipeg.

Upon arrival, officers found the teenager suffering from injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The RCMP are investigating the death as a homicide. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Berens River RCMP detachment at 204-382-2436.

The identity of the victim has not been released. The investigation is ongoing. Berens River First Nation is a remote community, accessible primarily by air and winter road.

This incident follows a previous homicide investigation in Berens River First Nation in February 2025, where a 45-year-old man died, and three men were arrested.
