Vancouver Doctor Herman Lee Charged With Sexually Assaulting Teens

A Vancouver doctor has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and sexual interference involving teenage patients. Herman Hau Man Lee, 65, was arrested in November 2025 following a nearly three-year investigation that began in March 2023. The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is now encouraging any other potential victims to come forward.

The investigation began after a 17-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted by a doctor at a clinic in Vancouver's Chinatown over several years. Further investigation uncovered another alleged assault in 2015 involving a 14-year-old girl at a clinic in Burnaby. The B. C. Prosecution Service approved charges against Lee on November 28, 2025.

Lee faces one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference for alleged offences in Burnaby in 2015. He also faces one count each of sexual assault, sexual interference, and sexual exploitation for alleged offences in Vancouver between May 2018 and December 2022.

VPD Investigation Division Superintendent Dale Weidman stated, "We want to assure everyone that if you do come forward, you will be met with care and compassion, and you will receive trauma-informed support throughout the investigative process". While out on bail, Lee is still a practicing physician, but is not permitted to treat anyone under the age of 16 unless another adult is present. Anyone with information is asked to call the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit.
