The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced the recall of forward Scott Sabourin from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. Sabourin, a veteran presence with a reputation for grit and physicality, will join the Lightning roster as they continue their campaign in the Eastern Conference.

Sabourin's recall provides the Lightning with additional depth and versatility up front. While not known for his offensive prowess, Sabourin brings valuable energy and a willingness to play a hard-nosed game, which can be crucial during the grind of the NHL season. His ability to contribute on the penalty kill and provide a spark with his physical play makes him a valuable asset to the team.

For Sabourin, this recall represents an opportunity to showcase his abilities at the highest level. A native of Orleans, Ontario, Sabourin has spent parts of several seasons in the NHL, including previous stints with the Ottawa Senators, Anaheim Ducks, and Toronto Maple Leafs. He signed with the Lightning organization in the summer of 2024. His experience and determination will be welcome additions to the Lightning lineup.

The Lightning have not yet announced the corresponding roster move to make room for Sabourin. It remains to be seen how long Sabourin will remain with the team, but his presence provides Coach Jon Cooper with another option as the Lightning navigate the challenges of a demanding NHL schedule.
