Canada's women's curling team, led by skip Rachel Homan, defeated the United States 10-7 to win the bronze medal at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. The Ottawa-based rink, consisting of Homan, third Tracy Fleury, second Emma Miskew, and lead Sarah Wilkes, secured the victory in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. This marks Homan's first Olympic medal after participating in both the 2018 and 2022 games without reaching the podium.
The game was closely contested in the early ends, with both teams trading single points. However, Canada gained momentum in the sixth end, scoring three points to take a significant lead. They further extended their advantage by scoring another three points in the eighth end, making it difficult for the Americans to catch up. Despite a late surge from the U. S. in the ninth end, Canada maintained control, holding the hammer in the final end.
Homan's team demonstrated strong performance throughout the match, outcurling the U. S. with an 89-79 per cent accuracy. Fleury, in particular, found her draw weight in the crucial medal game, contributing to Canada's success. After a rocky start to the tournament with a 1-3 record, Team Homan rallied to win five straight games, ultimately securing their spot in the playoffs and earning a well-deserved Olympic bronze medal.
