Health Canada is advising parents and caregivers to immediately stop using the HARPPA Wooden Baby Playpen Gate due to potential choking and injury hazards. The warning was issued after it was discovered that screws on the gate may loosen and detach, posing a risk to young children.

The affected product is the HARPPA Wooden Baby Playpen Gate, an expandable enclosure approximately 24 inches tall. The model number is PP04, with lot codes 2409200385, 2412150360, and 2503080364. Health Canada's recall notice emphasizes that these gates should no longer be used.

As of May 10, 2026, the company has received four reports of incidents related to the loosening screws, although no injuries have been reported in Canada. Health Canada emphasizes that, under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, recalled products cannot be redistributed, sold, or given away.

Consumers who own the HARPPA Wooden Baby Playpen Gate should immediately stop using it and contact HARPPA to obtain a replacement. HARPPA can be reached by email at recall@harppababy. com for more information on the recall process. Health Canada also encourages consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this, or any other consumer product, through the Consumer Product Incident Report Form. This recall is part of Health Canada's ongoing effort to ensure the safety of consumer products and protect Canadian families. Recently, Health Canada also recalled Zwilling electric kettles due to burn risks.
