Vancouver, B. C. - The Vancouver Canucks have traded forward Nils Höglander to the Nashville Predators in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2029 NHL Entry Draft. Canucks General Manager Ryan Johnson announced the deal on Monday, June 29, 2026.

"We would like to thank Nils for his time in Vancouver, and we wish him the best with his new team Nashville," Johnson stated. "Picking up another draft pick is important for us as we continue to try and accumulate assets for our rebuild."

Höglander, 25, was originally selected by the Canucks in the second round, 40th overall, in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. In 331 career NHL games, all with Vancouver, the 5'9" winger accumulated 120 points (60 goals, 60 assists). He also played in 45 regular season AHL games for the Abbotsford Canucks, recording 32 points (14-18-32).

The acquisition of the 2029 third-round pick, which originally belonged to the Colorado Avalanche, provides Vancouver with an additional asset as they continue their rebuilding process. Höglander had two seasons remaining on a three-year contract with an average annual value of $3 million. He recorded eight goals in 72 games in the 2024-25 season and was limited to two goals in 38 games last season due to a lower-body injury. The Predators, meanwhile, continue to be active in the offseason as they prepare for the upcoming free agency period.
