The Hockey Hall of Fame has officially unveiled its Class of 2026, a star-studded group that includes some of the most recognizable figures in hockey. Patrice Bergeron, Carey Price, Pekka Rinne, Keith Tkachuk, Cindy Curley, and Brian Burke have been selected for induction into the prestigious Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 9 in Toronto.
Bergeron, a centre renowned for his two-way prowess, earned his spot on his first ballot. Over his 19-season career with the Boston Bruins, he amassed 1,040 points and captured a Stanley Cup in 2011, while also being a six-time Selke Trophy winner. "This honor is the pinnacle of my career and represents the coaches and players that I went to battle with," Bergeron stated, calling the induction a surreal honour.
Joining Bergeron in the player category are goaltenders Carey Price and Pekka Rinne, along with forward Keith Tkachuk. Price, a Vezina and Hart Trophy winner, was a cornerstone for the Montreal Canadiens, leading them to a Stanley Cup Final appearance in 2021. Rinne, a long-time star for the Nashville Predators, becomes one of the few Finnish players, and the first Finnish goalie, inducted into the Hall. Tkachuk, a powerful forward, earns his induction in his 14th year of eligibility. Cindy Curley, a standout from women's hockey, also joins the player ranks.
Brian Burke, a prominent figure in NHL management and operations, will be inducted in the Builder category, recognizing his significant contributions to the game off the ice. The selections represent a remarkable blend of on-ice achievement and off-ice influence, celebrating the individuals who have left an indelible mark on hockey history.
