Ottawa, ON - The federal government has awarded Babcock Canada a six-year extension to its servicing contract for the Royal Canadian Navy's Victoria-class submarines. The contract, valued at over $1 billion, ensures the continued in-service support for Canada's sole submarine fleet as it awaits the delivery of new German-made vessels.
This extension provides vital operational flexibility for the Victoria-class submarines, allowing them to remain capable well into the future. While only one of Canada's four submarines is currently operational, the other three are undergoing necessary maintenance. Babcock Canada has been a long-standing partner in sustaining these submarines for over 18 years, contributing significantly to Canada's industrial base through job creation and support for a robust supply chain.
