An Air Canada flight arriving from Los Angeles experienced an incident on Thursday afternoon, veering off a taxiway after landing at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport. Flight AC774, carrying 156 passengers and six crew members, landed normally before exiting the main runway and travelling onto the grass. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among those on board.
The event prompted the activation of the airport's Emergency Coordination Centre. As a result, the north runway was temporarily closed to facilitate the safe evacuation of passengers, leading to operational delays at the airport. Passengers were deplaned via buses and transported to the terminal.
Air Canada has stated that the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will undergo a full inspection and that a detailed investigation into the cause of the incident is underway. Passengers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
